Well, I am starting to get back into playing the sax. It use to be such a passion for me, and I am getting the bug again. I have been playing mostly bass guitar for the last 10 years, and I am damn good, if I say so myself.
I was a bit sadden thou. I was looking for my Eugene Rousseau classical mouth piece for my tenor and I can not find it. I loved that mouth piece. During and after college, i switched to a Selmer c** metal mouth piece and then to a Brilhart metal mouth piece, and played mostly on metal for a more projecting sound. I was playing mostly rock, which is what I am doing now with Henley and the Loops (a charity band formed mostly of Dr., 2 lawyers and me the accountant lol). But I am wanting a deeper richer tone, which started me on my quest to fine my old mouthpiece.
Also, if anyone ever reads this blog, and has any knowledge ( I know I am really stretching here) on the Conn 22m, I would be grateful to know more about it. I feel like i was conned ( no pun intended) into buying it. Even thou it sounds nice, I think I was told it was more of a sax than it is. My alto is a Super Action 80 series II, which is a piece of art. With the Conn I fell like I playing an old jalopy.
By the way, only 17 more days till pitchers and catchers report (some of the most beautiful words in the world) and 36 more days till I leave for spring training in Florida!!!!
Go Cardinals!

Hot Wings and Hummus! Yum!
Ok, I went out with a few friends last night to Moon Dog Tavern in Fishers, Indiana after working out at the Y. I guess I was kinda in a goofy mood or something and felt like something a bit different. I was craving wings cause originally we were to go to Hooters for all you can eat chicken wings for $8, but plans changed. When looking thru the menu, I saw Hummus and thought, yum, but still wanted wings. Now this might sound a bit off the wall, but, I ordered both, hot wings and hummus and it was glorious! I was dipping my wings in the hummus. It was a heavenly party in my mouth. Such taste sensations. I would never have thought Hummus and Hot Wings would go together. It was soooooooo delioucious, infact I want some now for breakfast!!!!!! You have to try it, Hummus and Hot Wings!!! YUM!

Wings etc, Baseball, and whatever else comes to mind
Well our first gig at wings etc went well. It wasn't an overwhelming crowd, but they were enthusiastic and fun, and we kept people there. We started a new thing too. We have a list for people to sign with their email address and place a request for songs for us to learn. Since we are going to be playing there every Friday. So rock on!
On the baseball front, I am very disappointed in the Scott Rolen trade. I have always liked him, and he is defensively the best third baseman. Now, Glaus is a pretty good hitter and hits for power, gets on base and hits for average about a .254.
I have my spring training trip finalized. I will be going from March 4th - the 11th. Flying into Orlando, then driving down to Jupiter/Juno beach for five days. Then I will follow the Cardinals back up to Orlando and watch them at the Braves camp and go to Disney World!!!!! I haven't been to Disney World since they first opened Epcot, and I was a wee little teenager (13 or so).

Ca Plane Pou Moi - need a crash course in french
Ok, I have been dieing to cover this song with my band (Dropclaw). But none of us know french. I have tried to just learn the syllables, but I sound like a retard lol. I've tried it in English as well and it just sounds stupid. So since I had nothing really to say in this mornings blog I figured I would bitch about this. Bitch, Bitch, Bitch, Bitch! gee I feel better already!

Clemens - What a Mess!!! A Game of He said, She Said.
He said, She said!
First off, I was not that shocked that his name came up on the Mitchell Report. In the public eye, it seems he has always been under suspension. But that does not make one guilty. We seem to quickly judge people that are successful or reported by the media of hearsay acts. I am very surprised that Mitchell was willing to name Clemens, and even Pettit on the word of a criminal. There is no backing information; no documentation, no checks, no positive drug test, no empty syringe, nothing! I find it irresponsible for him to be named in the report without any factual documention. There is a reason we have a judicial system and due proccess of the law. But today it seems that we trial people in the media. All you have to do is say someone did something in the media and all of sudden its the truth. We have became a society of Wikipedia. All you have to do is post it, and its fact. SCARY!! Just because someone says someone is guilty doesn't make them guilty. But in the media, once it is said, the public takes it as a fact. I just think its irresponsible to make such accusation with out any factual backing, other than some one's word.

Dropclaw - New Drummer
Ok, we are going to bring in a new drummer. Paul has decided that he is tired of playing drums. Actually I am looking forward to this. He is kinda of a stick in the mud about learning new songs. He wants to play more for himself than he does for the crowd. One of the reasons I joined this band, was that i wanted to do a music that people liked (as well as i do) and have a good time.
I do miss the original stuff and playing long out hippy jazzy jams and such, but its really fun taking control of a crowd and just rocking them out for a good time.
The new drummer is really good, has a damn good voice too (mine sucks lol). We have used Daryl before too to fill in when Paul couldn't make it.
Also we are slowly bringing in a female vocalist. Right now we are doing a couple of Blondie tunes with her, and she is helping out with backing vocals (since I suck lol). So we are looking forward to her addition as well.
And dont forget, starting the 16th of January we are at Wings Ect. in Anderson EVERY FRAKING FRIDAY!!!!!! Good wings, good beer, and damn good rock n roll!

way to go Cardinals (smell my sarcasm) - 40 days till spring training!
WOW, check it out we signed Matt Clement!! We already have Mulder coming back from shoulder surgery from last year that only pitched two games, but we sign a pitcher who didnt throw a pitch all last year due to having shoulder surgery! yehaaaaaaaaa! With Christ Carpenter down with Tommy John Surgery, we have the bionic pitching rotation.
All sarcasm aside, Clement does have some upside. Its just that, coming back from shoulder surgery is very difficult for a pitcher or any player really (look at Rolen). Its not as successful as elbow surgeries are.
Fingers are crossed thou! Hopefully Coach Duncan can get some productivity out of him and my prayers are with Mulder! I luv him, and the Cardinals has not really seen the dominating pitcher that we was when he was with the Athletics. I hope he comes back strong this year.
On other news, I broke down and bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Looks like I am doing floors all weekend.

BASEBALL BASEBALL BASEBALL - 41 Days
Its that time of the year when I start counting down the days till spring training. So right now its only 41 days till pitchers and catcher report for the 2008 Spring Training season! yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa! I am already itching to hear the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd.
I even started to look for tickets for the season to start planning some baseball trips. Even though I am a HUGE Cardinal fan, I am planning a trip to NYC this summer. Being the last season for Yankee Stadium (the evil empire)and for Shea Stadium, I really want to out there this summer. I have never been to either of those stadiums. Have to admit, I am a bit nervous going out there alone. Ridding the subways and stuff. Being a Midwesterner, I am use to people being nice and not so gruff too. But I am not going to let traveling alone stop me. Those stadiums are going to be gone forever. I am also going to try to hit Fenway Park, if I can swing it. But its not so dire for me to this year since there is no plans on tearing down that cathedral anytime soon.
41 days! I can't wait.

NEW YEAR's Eve 2007!!!
ok, well my rock cover band ( Dropclaw )played on new years. It was fun to play new years again! but the bar wasn't that busy. I say it was about 25 percent full. We did have them eating out of our hands.
We are slowly adding a female vocalist to our power trio (i guess technically we wont be a power trio anymore). She is adding a lot of energy, plus she is good eye candy!!
A good buddy from college came out and saw my band play. I haven't hanged out with george forever!!!! It was good to see him and spend sometime with him. He has a really hot roommate too, but she had some guy with him. Just my luck! lol

I am looking forward to the new year, we have a house gig every friday in Anderson Indiana at Wings Etc should be fun, plus extra cash (and FREE wings!!! OOO YA!) for the new year as well!
I have to admit, i have been very disappointed in the crowds in Indianapolis area as of late. I know we havent been playing the best clubs, but still being a musician and in a damn good cover band, i do expect bigger crowds and some tail here and there, and 2007 didnt have any of that. Well hopefully 2008 will be bigger crowds and at least a little tail here and there. Or maybe Santa will have a late gift for me this year and send me the one true love i have been waiting for :) Go Santa!!!! well at least he is sending me to spring training again! :)
